I felt like drawing some cheese, so there you go. Trying to get back into the swing of things for cookbook illustration, which was the original point of Lunch Sketches in the first place. 🙂
Is lunchsketches.com back from the dead? The world may never know…
Either way, I drew this today. This was the first time I put down black lines first then used markers over it. I know the cast shadow is totally off but I was interested in making one with markers more than placing it properly.
If I were to redraw this, I would do many things differently. That’s the point of a warm up sketch though, isn’t it? That’s essentially all these are. There’s no time for a warm up, so they ARE the warm ups.
I think it’s high time for some more studies and from-life/from-photo drawings. I need to get back to working on my techniques. I think I’ve had enough original drawings for the short term.
So yesterday I learned that currency is intricate as eff. You’d think I’ve have learned this a long time ago, but yesterday was the first time that I ever attempted to draw it. It ended up taking two lunch breaks.
Anyway! My wallet has been bleeding money like an SR-71 bleeds fuel on the ground and it’s all thanks to the Steam Summer Sale. >_> Urg.

Just another ridiculous Ultima pun. You either get it or you don’t.
